SN410 industrial node

The SN410 industrial node is a sensing device for use with the R9 gateway. The SN410 is a ruggedized, outdoor version (IP65 rated enclosure) of the SN400 commercial node. It provides up to four external ports for wired sensors using the M5 industrial connector. It also provides an internal temperature sensor for monitoring ambient temperature. The SN410 uses two “C” cell size batteries for power, and as an option, can also use a DC power adapter (3.0V).

The Industrial Node is designed to support several types of low pin count buses, including 1 wire, 4-20mA and 0-10V analog inputs. This allows for maximum flexibility with sensor selection. Some typical applications include:

Wireless network interface

For transfer of data to the G200 gateway, the SN410 utilizes the 915 MHz ISM wireless band. This is implemented with software-defined radio (SDR) technology, so many different standards can be supported. Because of the longer 915 MHz RF wavelength (as compared to 2.4 GHz), indoor and outdoor range, as well as signal penetration through obstructions is optimized.

The SN410 operates with an internal 915 MHz. antenna.

Network topology

R9’s products are deployed in a typical spoke and hub configuration. In this topology the sensor nodes (SN410) communicate directly to the G200 gateway which in turn communicates to the cellular network.

Multi-channel data monitoring

The SN410 Industrial node can monitor up to four remote data channels, via cabled sensors (Industrial M5 connector), and also provides one internal ambient temperature sensor. Monitor parameters like temperature, tank level, moisture level, or water leak at four locations with one device. Two screw flanges are available for mounting. Attachment magnets can also be utilized (optional).

Reset button (internal to enclosure).
Pairing button (internal to enclosure).
LED indicator (red/green) for pairing status (internal to enclosure).
IP65 ABS plastic enclosure (100 mm height x 157 mm width x 52 mm thickness).
- Two mounting flanges allows mounting with screw or other fasteners.
- option for magnetic attachment using bolt-on magnetic “feet”.
Built-in system power timer for lowest possible power draw, and longest possible battery life.
2x C cell alkaline battery powered.
Optional, DC jack for external power input (3.0V). Note that this option does not provide for operation during power outages.
Optional, PTFE membrane based breather vent (outdoor, direct weather application).
Optional, Bolt-on magnetic feet for mounting flanges. Allows magnetic attachment of SN410.
Optional, 868 MHz internal antenna for European markets.
